Community Affairs Legislation Committee's inquiry into the Aged Care Amendment Bill, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Care Commissioner and Other Measures Bill. We are joined this morning by Professors Kathy Eagar and Ian Yates. Thank you for making time, particularly on such short notice, to give evidence to the inquiry today.

I understand information on parliamentary privilege and the protection and obligations of witnesses has been provided to you. I understand also that, I remind senators of their obligations under the behavior codes for parliamentarians, and I remind everybody who is appearing, well we're all appearing by teleconference today, or videoconference today, to mute your microphones when you are not speaking. I will begin by asking both Professor Yates and Professor Eagar to just state your full name and the capacity in which you appear today, and then we'll proceed to opening statements. Professor Yates, I'll begin with you.
