So, can we ask also colleagues to take their seats as we are a bit behind the schedule, so I apologize for all those who were timely and in time here. Dear Minister Sybiha, dear Andrii, dear Anita, dear Minister Anand, Commissioner Cos, dear Marta, excellencies, thank you for being here. No matter whether you are a few kilometers or 10,000 kilometers away from Ukraine, the pain inflicted on Ukrainian children leaves no one untouched. And I really welcome that we have here this meeting of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, which I'm proud to co-chair with Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Cos and also together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Anita Anand and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha. Addressing one of the most heinous crimes that Russia has committed since the beginning of the war of aggression against Ukraine remains as important as ever, and your presence today sends a strong signal on our determination to support Ukraine, making sure every child is returned.

President Zelenskyy, dear Volodymyr, Prime Minister Karni, dear Mark, thank you for hosting this event together on an issue that is so dear to our hearts. Ministers, excellencies, ladies and gentlemen, last year I met two Ukrainian heroes I will never forget: a young boy named Sasha and his grandmother Liudmyla. Sasha was only 11 when Russian soldiers took him from his mother. They wanted to bring him to Russia, give him Russian parents, a Russian passport, a Russian life. But Sasha rebelled.
