Speaker 1
Good morning. This is a session of the Foreign Affairs Committee where we are looking at the forthcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in November. And I should start by first of all saying that I'm in the chair today because our chair Emily Thornberry is unable to be with us. And also one of our witnesses previously advertised, Professor Onslow, is also unable to be here. But can I welcome our two witnesses on the first panel and would you like to introduce yourselves?
16:44 - 16:47
Speaker 3
Dr Carrington, you start.
16:47 - 17:18
Speaker 5
Thanks. Um, yeah, I'm Grace Carrington. I'm an honorary research fellow at the UCL Institute of the Americas. I specialize in politics and decolonization in the Caribbean. So my last book looked at non-independent states including the British Overseas Territories.
And my current book project looks more at the relationship with the monarchy, campaigns for republics, and debates around reparations in the Caribbean.
