AI assistants

Polyfact, inside Claude

Ask Claude, ChatGPT or Mistral: the assistant searches the committee hearings and sittings of the Australian Parliament, links every answer to its hearing and every quote to the second it was said. The scope is that of your subscription.

Claude On claude.ai and the desktop app
  1. 1 “Settings”, section “Customize”, at the very bottom: “Connectors”. Your initials, at the bottom left of Claude, open the settings.
  2. 2 At the top right, “Add”, then “Add custom connector”: name Polyfact, the address below. https://mcp.polyfact.com/mcp Paste it in the “Remote MCP server URL” field of Claude’s window. Not in your browser’s address bar: this address does not open as a website. The dialog detects everything: keep the options marked “Detected” (“Connect now”, “Register automatically”), nothing in the headers nor in “Advanced”. Then “Add”.
  3. 3 On the Polyfact row, “Connect”, then “Allow” on the Polyfact page that opens. Sign in if needed. Back in Claude, Polyfact shows “Connected”.
  4. 4 In a conversation: “+”, “Connectors”, enable Polyfact. On the first question, choose “Always allow” so it stops interrupting you.
? Not working?
  • “Server not found” or an error right after “Add”: check the address ends with “/mcp”, then try again. The first attempt sometimes fails and the second goes through.
  • “Authorization failed”, or Polyfact stays “Not connected” or shows “Reconnect”: click that button, then “Allow”. If Claude says the connector already exists, open the “Not connected” tab and click “Connect”.
  • Polyfact connects but every search fails, or the Polyfact page refuses access: the account you signed in with has no subscription. Use the email you subscribed with, or the one your team invited. Example questions to get started

  • Which committee hearings discussed housing supply this month?
  • What did the energy regulator tell the Senate committee about gas prices? Quote the passage with its timecode.
  • How many hearings and sittings mentioned critical minerals over the last two months, week by week?

For Polyfact subscribers, free trial included: you sign in with your account, within the scope of your subscription.

Invented example of a Senate committee hearing: no real hearing, no real name. Each timecode would open the hearing's video at that second.

Sourced

Every quote, to the second

The assistant links each claim to the hearing it comes from, and each quote to the second the words were said. You check in one click and share the moment, not a summary.

  • One link per claim, to the hearing's video
  • The exact words, from the word-for-word transcript
  • What has no source is not presented as a fact

Complete

Everything, when you ask for everything

An open question gets the best results. When you ask for a list or a number, the assistant counts, narrows the period and fetches what is missing before answering, and a list is only called complete when it is.

  • The number of hearings and sittings where a term came up, by week or month
  • A whole hearing, chapter by chapter or one speaker at a time
  • Every passage of a hearing where a word was said, not just the first ones

Under control

Your account, your scope, read-only

The connection goes through your Polyfact account: the assistant sees what your team sees, changes nothing and keeps no memory from one call to the next. You revoke access from your assistant, at any time.

  • Sign in with your Polyfact account, no key to copy
  • Read-only: the assistant searches and reads, it writes nothing
  • Disconnected in one click, from the assistant's settings

Frequently asked questions

Who can connect their assistant to Polyfact?

Anyone with a Polyfact subscription, from the first day of the free trial. You sign in with your Polyfact account, and the assistant reads what your subscription covers, nothing more. An account with no subscription cannot connect.

Which assistants are supported?

Claude, ChatGPT (in developer mode) and Mistral Vibe, formerly Le Chat, connect in a few clicks. Claude Code, Cursor and any agent that speaks the MCP protocol connect with the same address. More assistants will follow.

What can the assistant do once connected?

Search the committee hearings and sittings your subscription covers, count them over a period, read a hearing chapter by chapter or one speaker at a time, find every passage of a hearing where a word was said, and quote the exact words with a link to the second. It reads; it writes nothing.

How do I know an answer is reliable?

Every claim is linked to its source, the hearing's video, and every quote to the second the words were said. When you ask for a complete list or a number, the assistant counts and fetches what is missing instead of passing a part off as the whole.

Does Polyfact keep my conversations?

No. Your conversations stay with your assistant's provider. Polyfact only receives the searches the assistant sends it, answers them read-only and keeps no memory from one call to the next.

How do I revoke access?

From your assistant's settings: remove the Polyfact connector and access stops at once. You can also disable it conversation by conversation.
